Dentists use suction to remove saliva, blood, and debris from the patient's mouth during dental procedures. It is used to keep the working area clear and dry, which allows the dentist to see and work on the teeth more easily. This is accomplished by using a small rubber tube that is inserted into the patient's mouth, and the other end is connected to a vacuum pump which creates suction. This suction helps to remove any fluids and debris that are generated during the procedure. This is especially useful during procedures such as fillings, extractions and other types of restorative treatments, as it allows the dentist to see what they are doing, and work more efficiently.
