Cusp

A dental cusp is a pointed or raised surface on the biting edge of a tooth. Cusps are typically found on the occlusal (chewing) surfaces of premolars and molars, which are the teeth located at the back of the mouth. They are used to grind and crush food during chewing. The shape and number of cusps on a tooth can vary depending on the tooth's function and location in the mouth. In simple terms, a dental cusp is a small point or bump on the biting surface of a tooth that helps in grinding and crushing food during chewing. They are mostly found on the back teeth.
